Thanks to Rush Limbaugh for catching this waffle.
Vice President nominee Joe Biden, speaking to a cheering crowd in Deerfield Beach, Florida on September 3, pledged that if he and Obama are elected, they'd sue President Bush for war crimes. He concluded by emphatically stating, "If there has been a basis upon which you could pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued. Not out of vengeance, not out of retribution, out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no one—no attorney general, no president, no one—is above the law!"
The next morning on Fox & Friends, Brian Kilmeade asked Joe Biden to clarify his remarks, "I'd like to hear from you, if you guys are elected, you and Senator Obama, you're actually going to pursue criminal charges against President Bush's administration and different people that served there?"
Here comes the waffle. Biden stammered, "That's not true, and that make—that—I don't know where that report's coming from . . . no one is talking about pursuing President Bush criminally."
Huh? How about from your comments less than 24 hours ago. While admittedly that's a fast waffle, he's not the fastest waffler in the West. His running mate Barack Obama waffled on the topic of pot in the same sentence! Kids, don't try this at home . . . it takes a seasoned waffler to change positions in the same breath.
