When we introduced our OBAMA WAFFLES political satire last fall, we were blasted for placing Obama on the top of the box dressed in a turban. The point we were making was simply to indicate there was some debate about his Muslim background. He denied any connection, but there was evidence to the contrary. Whoopi Goldberg and the girls on ABC's THE VIEW were especially upset at that depiction, claiming Obama had nothing to do with the Muslim faith.

Looks like we were right and our critics were wrong.
ABC News reported last night that Team Obama is admitting that Pres. Barack Hussein Obama has, in fact, Muslim roots. They cite Denis McDonough, Obama's National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications, as saying, "the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to—or before he's been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world—you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father—obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago."
That's pretty amazing from Pres. Obama, a guy who once attempted to distance himself from his own middle name, as ABC News reported last year and who also claimed that those who said he had Muslim roots were "just making stuff up." Frankly, we don't care if he IS a Muslim, we'd just like the truth without the waffling.
In true wafflicious fashion, Obama is now waffling on his previous denials. When speaking to the Turkish Parliament on April 6, 2009, Obama talked about how many "Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them."
And, ABC reporters Jake Tapper and Sunien Miller observe, "Since the election . . . with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president's roots. Especially when reaching out to the Muslim world."
Suddenly it looks like we were prophetic.
What's next? Maybe the White House will finally start admitting Obama is a socialist, too.
